I have been gardening for over twenty years at my home in Gardiner, NY where I live with my husband and two sons. As the owner of Watt’s Bloomin', I provide garden lectures, design, coaching, consulting, installation, and maintenance.
- In 2005, I became a Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener of Ulster County, NY volunteer. At Garden Day, our annual day of gardening classes, I have been the Speaker and Facilitator Coordinator for 2007 and 2008.
- Since 2005 I’ve been presenting garden lectures at local nurseries, garden clubs, and associations throughout the Hudson Valley.
- I am a member of the Gardiner Association of Business.
- As active Membership Chairperson in the New Paltz Garden Club, our mission is working with other gardeners in a joint effort to beautify the surroundings, to study all aspects of gardening, and promote conservation of our natural resources. The New Paltz Garden Club is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc. Central Atlantic Region and Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, Inc Third District. I have adopted that same mission in my garden as well as in my business.
- I co- founded the Gardiner Gardeners - a garden club in my own town so gardeners could get together and just ‘talk plants’ in an unstructured environment with people who share the same interests.
- I became a member of the American Iris Society several years ago because I love irises not only for their delicate beauty but their tough growth habit and deer resistance.
- I work with senior citizens at a day center in Ulster County weekly providing garden therapy. Using gardening to give people something to look forward to, to nurture and encourage independence, and just to make them feel good is very rewarding.
I hope I inspire people to get their hands dirty and enjoy the gardening process at their own home. Anyone can enjoy gardening. But, if you just want your garden to look nice without having to do the gardening yourself, I can do it for you. See the services I offer.
Let’s dig in!!!
